  Success Story: Don Enari
Don Enari, a 51 year-old nuclear medicine technician at Sherman Hospital, knew he had a family history of heart disease. He'd had a stress test within the last two years, but the results didn’t reveal any major problems.

Recently, Sherman Hospital acquired a new 16-slice CT scanner -- a device that can help to detect plaque buildup in the arteries. When Sherman needed a volunteer to test the device, Don stepped forward. And he's glad he did.

The scanner revealed that Don had moderate amounts of plaque buildup. Because of his family history, and because he'd already had a stress test, he decided to proceed to the cardiac catheterization lab that Friday morning.

The tests revealed he had 80-90% blockage in one of his arteries, and Don immediately received three drug-eluting stents and underwent two angioplasties. The following evening, Don attended a coworker's wedding reception, and he returned to work on Monday.
